Bump!
Just seen her live for the first time. And WOW is about all I can say.
I can't believe she's only 20, she's crazily mature.
Her voice is incredible live, and although I prefer the first album as a whole Rambling Man and I Speak Because I Can were SO SO good live.
She did a good mix of songs from both and also 4 new songs, which if anything to go by means the next album is going to be stunning.

Amazing evening :)

Great to hear Lucy! I bloody ADORE the girl and have done for ages yet have only managed to see her once for about half an hour at Glasto 2007. WHERE IS THE JUSTICE?!

As for the new (which really isn't new anymore) album, I think it's an absolute stunner. Still listening to it a lot a lot a lot. :D

Aw, I was looking forward to seeing Laura on Tuesday at Vicar Street -

"Laura Marling‘s Irish tour dates have been postponed due to illness. The news comes after the singer pulled out of her performance on RTÉ’s Other Voices concert series, which is being filmed this weekend in Dingle. The gigs affected are as follows:

The Pavilion, Cork (December 5th)
Black Box, Belfast (December 6th)
Vicar St., Dublin (December 7th)

Concert-goers are advised to hold onto their tickets as rescheduled dates will be announced for the new year."

Has anyone pre-ordered 'A Creature I Don't Know' yet? I'm toying with the idea of getting the Special Edition but I still don't have an LP player.

Yes, I have ordered it, the standard version.

Laura played her re-scheduled Irish date at the end of June and the setlist was -

Card
Devil's Spoke
Alpha Shallows
Dont Ask Me Why
Salinas
Ghosts
Goodbye England - solo
Made By Made - solo
Night After Night - solo
Blackberry Stone
Alas
Hope In The Air
Rambling Man
I Speak Because I Can

It was well worth the wait!

The new album is by far my fave album of the year. The 3-song cycle "I Was Just a Card" and "Don't Ask Me Why" / "Salinas" may be the best 10 minutes of music of 2011. There, that's a bit of hyperbole for you  But these 3 songs just take my breath away...

It may just be me, but Laura seems to have really matured vocally and in her lyrics... hard to believe she's still 21!

They're my fave 3 songs on the album too. I love how they flow into each other too :)
