As she emerges from the shadow of Damien Rice, and following on from the success of The Cake Sale album in aid of Oxfam, I think it is time Lisa had her own page. With the imminent launch on September 12th of her first album, Sea Sew, she undertook a tour of Ireland to air her new songs. I was fortunate enough to be at the two nights of her very intimate Upstairs at Whelan's gigs, where I met three others who had flown in especially for the first night.

I missed her appearances at the Ruby Sessions and Festival of World Cultures, unfortunately.

I look forward to her in-store on September 13th and her next appearances at Whelan's and The Button Factory. Learn more about her here:
http://www.lisahannigan.ie/ and http://www.myspace.com/lisahannigan
and here you can learn about her parting from Damien Rice

I wish her great success and feel she deserves it. What do you think ?

Yes, definitely Edel. I hope to be at the in-store at 5 next Saturday, the Button Factory and both Whelan's gigs.

And Lisa1, you won't regret it. Be there at the start !

I love her freestyle dancing ! And, of course, her singing.

Nice little interview here -

http://www.todayfm.com/Article.asp?id=869856

When she introduced her band in Whelan's she says "And Donogh Molloy on the table of stuff"

P.S. I notice her website now says Saturday's in-store TBC, her MySpace says 12.00 and adds one in Road Records at 1.00 on 18th.

But saw her in Tower yesterday and will probably head along to Whelans next week :D
