Saw Lisa at the good old Picnic this weekend. I enjoyed her set very much and remembered how much I love her. Heard a few people say that with her more sort of "delicate" sound she was a bit lost on the main stage i.e. she might've been better suited to a smaller stage or indoors at least but I enjoyed myself and the band seemed to aswell. I don't think I heard anything negative about it though. Here's the one photo I took

OH! And she was on just before Brian Wilson! :o What a day I had that day

Also, when I came back to the tent at one point my friend told me that some of the people camped near us claimed to be friends of Lisa's. I don't know whether to believe them, or my friend, but Lisa did not show up in my campsite at any point so it doesn't really make a difference whether it was true or not :x :p

Anyway yeah I heard on my way back from the Picnic she's playing Vicar St Decemer 3rd. I thought about it for a while but then I just sort of bought my ticket on a whim. I really can't resist. I'm not sure how I'm going to go about it but I WILL be there. I promise that to myself!

You will love it Helen. And Eims, I will see you at Vicar Street. I saw Lisa at the Concert Hall opening for The Swell Season recently and she did really well. Saw Una and Donagh afterwards, but no sign of Lisa. (Met Marketa Irglova afterwards, she was really lovely and signed my CD)

Lisa has announced some new Irish & UK dates, including one that is about 15 minutes up the road from me.

Nov 22/09 The Waterfront Norwich Norwich, UK Sep 30 @ 9 am BST
Nov 24/09 Club Academy Manchester, UK Sep 30 @ 9 am BST
Nov 25/09 Academy 2 Birmingham, UK Sep 30 @ 9 am BST
Dec 6/09 INEC Acoustic Club Kilarney, IE Sep 29 @ 9 am IST
Dec 7/09 Glór Irish Music Centre Ennis, IE Sep 29 @ 9 am IST
Dec 11/09 Balor Arts Centre Donegal, IE Sep 29 @ 9 am IST
Dec 12/09 The Nerve Centre Derry, IE Sep 29 @ 9 am IST
Dec 15/09 River Bank Arts Centre Kildare, IE Sep 29 @ 9 am IST
Dec 17/09 Dolans Warehouse Limerick, IE Sep 29 @ 9 am IST

The Donegal one is about a week after the Vicar St. show. Will definitely get a ticket for this one, and if I don't make it to the Dublin one (although I'm still determined I will) it won't be so bad. Yay! Lisa in Donegal! :o NO ONE comes to Donegal!

(Just as well that I didn't mention the Guinness was free ! And as I rested on the barrier waiting for Lisa to appear, it was served from a tray to me. I was seen on the broadcast on The Pub Channel too, with David Gray)
Saw Lisa again on Thursday at Vicar Street. It was packed and a terrific show, and the big finish nearly brought the house down - Personal Jesus, originally by Depeche Mode - check out the video from the US

Forgot to mention, we got the first ever 'live' presentation of the Lille pop-up book, with the pages turned by Donagh. Now that was special.

(Eimear, don't miss this one !)
