Well when you put it like that:

HMV Braehead July 2007
HMV Argyle Street July 2007
Apples Store
HMV Argyle Street October 2007

And that's it. Was going to go the Barrowlands last year and then changed my mind

Wow, I was just listening to this version on Youtube not a half hour ago! This is quite probably my favorite Christmas song bar none, and I'm fiercely defensive of it. I don't know what it is about this song, but unlike so many of the other great songs, it seems not to have lent itself to being covered well. Even a singer I dearly love, Christy Moore, absolutely butchered it. The only cover that's come close for me has been KT's with Ed Harcourt (I even understand why, released as it was through Target, she felt the need to censor the lyric).

But this one isn't that far off. First of all, nobody in any place ever should attempt this without both a male and a female singer, so they got that right. That's non-negotiable. Secondly, it's a rare female singer indeed who can do justice to Kirsty's original. KT and Amy are the only ones I've heard so far who have. If I'd have been at the Barras that night, Id've been all teary-eyed.

Of course, if I ever actually make my way to the Barras, that alone will probably make me all teary-eyed before any music even starts. So much history there.

Bastards! It ought to be bloody historical landmark! I mean, I realize that CBGB and the Fillmore East are no more, too, but at least the *buildings* are still there, y'know?

Argh. With Frau Zathras finishing her doctorate, it'll be some time before we can afford to travel to the UK as we've always hoped to.

Bought my ticket tonight for the Barras (although I don't know about it lol)

I say we change ourselves to the barras, have amy down there singing barrowlands ballroom and us all singing along. Why is the Glasgow sky line changing? I mean, the grey box that is the SECC isn't going to be much long either :(

I can't wait for the new album... it's going to be out in March, and I hope it'll be in the US not too long after that.
