Hopefully here is the answer to the question that's stopping you sleeping at night.

    KT the person

Born of Hong Kong Chinese/Scottish mother and Irish father, and adopted by a Scots couple. Birth mother was a dancer, father was a folk singer???

DOB 23/06/75

Married to Luke, the band's drummer. "Luke" is a boy's name, by the way.

KT's Tattoo on her shoulder is a cat winking.

KT's boots are by Fiorentini Baker & you can get them at Post Mistress or Selfridges in London.

Yes, she does post on the forum. Click here to see KT's posts

    KT the artist

KT appeared on Later with Jools as a last minute replacement for the rapper Nas. At the time she was on tour playng with mad Orcadians, Half Cousin, who were supporting The Earlies.

She features on supremo Klezmer band, Oi Va Voi's album, 'Laughter Through the Tears.'

She also guests on King Creosote's new album, 'KC Rules Ok.'

KT's Equipment Picks (from an interview published in Acoustic Guitar May 2008)
• Acoustic Guitars:
Gibson Doves. On Acoustic Extravaganza, KT Tunstall played a blonde Dove, and she has a black custom Elvis Presley Dove with a white pickguard and stars on the fretboard. Her backup guitar is a Gibson Hummingbird. Tunstall also plays a guitar given to her by Shinichi Arimitsu, a Japanese fan/luthier; in honor of Tunstall’s breakthrough hit, the guitar is inlaid with a black horse and cherry blossom.
• Electric Guitars:
White 1975 Gretsch Falcon and 1963 Gretsch Silver Jet. The hollow-body Falcon was originally rented for the Brit Awards, where she wanted to make her segment look as if it were in black and white. She was so smitten with the guitar her label bought it for her.
• Amplification:
Both Doves use Fishman Acoustic Matrix Natural I pickup systems.
• Strings:
D’Addario EJ17 phosphor bronze mediums (.013–.053).
• Picks:
Jim Dunlop .73 gray nylons.
• Looper:
Akai E2 Headrush, nicknamed “Wee Bastard” by Tunstall.
