I suppose it doesn't hurt to lobby for one's favorite venues:

Cities 97 Basilica Block Party 2011 (this is a pretty big deal and a damn good time).

http://basilicablockparty.org/info

Big Top Chautauqua (not all that far from the Twin Cities)

http://www.bigtop.org/

And if one really finds their way to the Big Top then one should spend an extra night and party at Tom's on the island.

Totally agree on the Basilica Block Party! Would be perfect for KT's stuff.

Whatever you do KT, if anyone suggests performing at the Apple River in Somerset, Wisconsin, RUN, (not walk) AWAY!!!

I am familiar with that event but, not aware that its a negative thing, what's up with the Apple River?

The Block Party is just a good idea for KT, I'd be really surprised if Cities 97 doesn't do some lobbyin for us on that one. Chautauqua was a better fit before the Tiger Suit material, its more of a folky rock venue vs. techno rock.

You're familiar with Ozzfest??? :smt017 Maybe they have other festivals there but that is the big one that draws thousands of drunk teenage boys. :smt043

No that's not the one. I think they do a country jam perhaps.

I found a "Country Splash" listed for Float Rite Park amphitheater so this must be what you are referring to. But the names are strictly C&W, not really a good venue for Tiger Suit tour. I suppose KT could sing "Stand By Your Man" and "Rawhide" though. :D

That must be it as I remember seeing LeAnn Rimes name on the marquee as I was riding by a couple of summers ago. I don't even think Chautauqua would be a good fit for the Tiger Suit tour, definitely pre Tiger Suit though but that was then. I don't know, the BTC is a pretty flexible venue with regard to what they book., it is the right size, in a really decent neighborhood. With some pretty good evening diversions close by. You should have had your guys go over to Tom's Burned Down Cafe on the Island when you were up last summer. Terry and I were there to see Molly and The Danger Band the night before we came down to see KT at Sneaky Pete's. I can't remember if I've mentioned Molly before but she's really amazing. Since they're a bar band they do a lot of covers but Molly has been performing for quite a while so she's got a nice stockpile of original stuff too. OMG, talking about Bayfield, Tom's and summer has just got me craving an order of Flamingo Tenders (Maggies version of boneless buffalo wings) from Maggies.

I'm watching the last episode in the Austin City Limits studio. This would be 36 years they televised live (recorded) performances in the same studio late Sat night in states TV. It represents many important points in my life. Not only for seeing many performers being put on the spot to perform their best, but also being introduced to new acts. ACL is where I first experienced KT on a blurry Sat night a few years back and I was hooked. I hope she is invited back to perform in their new studio soon. I want some new memories!

^That'd be good!

In honor of Tiger Suit, I think KT should play "ZooTunes" at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle this summer. http://www.zoo.org/zootunes C'mon, you know it just makes sense - RAWRRRR!
