Lucky Number Slevin.

Clever film, really funny in parts. It produced on the funniest lines in a film for me:

"My father used to say: "The first time someone calls you a horse you punch him on the nose, the second time someone calls you a horse you call him a jerk but the third time someone calls you a horse, well then perhaps it's time to go shopping for a saddle." "

I remember I really enjoyed this film and also found it surprisingly clever :D

The Constant Gardner (again): such a great film. Powerful direction (from the same talented director who did the city of god) and with the amazing, stunning, beautiful and touching Rachel Weiz :D

Love that.

Lost In Translation.

I thought the story itself could've had a bit more oompf, but I found Bill and Scarlett's partnership one of the best I've ever seen. Total chemistry. Also, I've never really liked Scarlett but boy did I fall in love with her.

Captain Corelli's Madolin.

I put it on thinking it was gonna be pretty average, but I absolutely loved it. So good when that happens :D

Also in my ignorance, I never knew Greece was invaded during WW2, so it was a very informative movie too.

And of course...Penelope Cruz is easy on the eye.

Agreed ^^

Top Gun.

I don't know if it is just me or what but i reckon whatever Tom Cruise is in then he is Tom Cruise.. like i don't think he does well at playing a character. always seems to be the same.

Have been wanting to see this for ages - got the chance to see it at least twice on holiday, but something else got in the way. Anyhoo, I thought it was quite good, thought it might inspire me to do more with my own life. (P.S. I want Zooey Deschanel's hair from the movie!)

Role Models

Another one I've been meaning to see....and yet another one I enjoyed. The black kid in it is so rude! (But funny though.) Paul Rudd & Seann William Scott keep getting stereotyped methinks - both played characters not unlike characters they've played before (Paul Rudd's character reminded me a little of the one he played in Knocked Up, SWS was like Stifler again but a little less focused on the sex etc).

I still consider getting wasted as an artistic pursuit.
Music, too, can be a route out of places too dark to stay.

I saw a screening of 500 Days of Summer tonight, absolutely loved it...the main male character is almost too similar to me :)
