Thanks Claire. I have a few pointers to 'bug hunt' but if I dont get anywhere I have someone as first sub to fix it for me.

(the worst thing is, it sounded bloody good on the first test. Put the top on the box and ... )

Thats was the only train of the day then?

Ahh well that's good to hear. You'll get it going one way or another! :smt023 :D

I think it was the first train for a while, but certainly not the first of the day. I really wasn't expecting it to be busy either, but there was only 2 carriages and people were literally shoving themselves onto it, it was madness! I was glad i was only going 2 stops!

One of the regulators isnt regulating (outputting 35v instead of 25v  ) burnt out a resistor, and I dont know what else as I havent metered everything yet.

Did you get the room heater Dave?

Is that the new steam engine?

Sounds better with the cover off though  So, what you getting?

Im not sure what it is TBH 4 regs in a line across the back of the board, but only ones gone U/S Ive been given the voltage points to have a measure, so I might have a go tomorrow. Failing that I have a friendly electronics engineer in the wings ready to save me

Thats blacker than black  (and blacker than a room full of Naim)

I have not heard Graaf (or much valve TBH) but all the reports are good. Nice one (Oooo OTL and balanced as well )

Weighs the same as a sack of spuds too

LOL just remembered this the sales folk were setting up the various amps with different speakers and i had my Celestion 550 s
in for maintenance (one speaker was out of range) so they wheeled them out (no covers on) and started working a way through the various amps and the celestions blew the newer speakers away ..i turned to the sales guy and said if you really hammer the amps up the speakers will blow yer breeks aff :smt043 ...salesman said well we could ask the owner if he would sell the speakers to you :smt005 .imagine his surprise when he learned who owned them :D .. all in all though once the unit is in and hooked up the amp won't be pushed too far (only if i'm alone and the 3 mile exclusion zone is in effect) :smt096
