91 dead, 1,500 injured in central Italy quake
A powerful earthquake in mountainous central Italy knocked down whole blocks of buildings early Monday as residents slept, killing at least 91 people in the country's deadliest quake in nearly three decades. Tens of thousands were homeless and 1,500 were injured.

Hi guys, not a happy moment to come back...
This morning I woke up with this terrible news. The area of the earthquake is far away from where I live (I did not even notice the eartquake) but I've seen images and videos on TV, they just left me breathless. People who survived don't have even a home now. It's so sad.
The earthquake hit exactly the city of L'Aquila, a medium city near Rome, in the region of Abruzzo. The town is completely razed to the ground, about 8 buildings out of 10 are collapsed. For now over than 150 people dead in the accident but there are at least 300 lost so I think that the number will highly increase.
I called some friends of mine who live in Abruzzo. They were obviously shocked and told me that a little city, Onna, was totally destroyed.
Here are some images

Apparently Madonna gave 500000$. And then they show an interview with an old Italien lady to ask what she thinks about Madonna. Her very 'wise' answer: 'SHE'S A SLUT'.

That is sad news that hits home as I live in an earthquake zone. Thank you so much for the link to the photos, Sergio.

Peru had an earthquake on August 16th,would that cause the northern fault lines in California to rupture? I'm no scientist, but because Peru had an earthquake, would that put more pressure on the fault lines north, up the coast and eventually cause major earthquakes on the coast of California? Didn't California have a small earthquake just recently and wasn't there predictions of a major earthquake on the San Andreas Fault line made on CNN just a few days ago? Shouldn't people be made more aware of this possibility?
