Hes not so good today. He was so glad to be home yesterday that he overdid things (he walked more yesterday than he had the last 3 weeks) and its totally trashed him. At least he had a good nights sleep last night and hes resting today (no choice really  ) and hopefully he will be a bit better tomorrow.

Oi. Know all about overdoing things... :p At least that means he was really (a bit too much though ) optimistic!
But what a good thing he's finally home! Hope he'll do fine after a bit of rest and he can find a balance in what he all can do at the moment without overdoing it again

Just caught up reading the forum, really glad to hear the news about you dad being on the mend, he's obviously been feeling enthusiastic to get back to his feet (a bit too much!) but Im sure that enthusiasm will help his recovery, once he learns to curb it. Really good to hear some good news for you James. xxx

Well, today was a bit better. He had a shower and got dressed for the first time in over 3 weeks. Its shattered him of course (hes asleep now) but he feels good for doing it.

Just got to make sure he keeps on at a slow pace, and he will (hopefully) get there.

Thanks for the support everyone

Things are still (slowly) improving, or at least not getting worse. He had a really rough spell on the weekend, but he seems over that, and coping pretty well. Hes still sleeping most of the day and night, but hes walking (with a zimmer) and gradually eating more.

The chest infection is still there, but ionce hes kicked that hopefully he will improve even faster. OK we all j=know hes not going to get well, but he should get to the stage where he can cope on his own.

I'm happy he keeps getting better. Even if it's really slow, any improvement is an achievement!
My thoughts are still with your dad and you, James. xxx

Lots of love and strength to you (and Annie) James at this difficult time :smt058

Do you find yourself talking more to your Dad about things these days?

Thanks Helen

yes we are doing a lot of 'remember whens' and that sort of thing.

We are home now (as of last Sunday) but going back again on Saturday. My sis is there for the moment taking care of things. It feels so odd being in this house after 5 weeks away :? Cant find a thing

I can relate to the being away thing. I've been in my own house for 3 nights in the last 6 weeks but for happier reasons. Must be very tiring for you ..sending you strength :smt058
