Could you please all spare a thought for a lovely lady called Gloria, she's my bandmates mum and is in the next room to where i am now with a minister reading her the last rights. It's a strange and sad situation.

She's been through a lot and i know your thoughts would mean a lot to her family.

Thanks guys, your thoughts and prayers will truly mean a lot to them.

As far as i know she's hanging in there, but it seems like it's really only a matter of time. It's so sad, they're such a lovely family. I was there today because i work for my bandmate's business (the office is at their house) but in the end i left because it all seemed to be getting too much for them. I really wish i could do more.

We'll just have to see what tomorrow brings i guess.

Found out today that Gloria passed away on Tuesday evening. Very sad, but at least she's at peace now.

This is proving to be the most difficult time we've faced as a family. The treacherous weather, and the fact it's Christmas - when the world goes mad/shuts down - are just piling up the problems, on top of what we already have to cope with on a daily basis.

Because the effects of the mast outside our home are non-negiotiable, I have to spend as much time as possible away from it, regardless of time or circumstances. Which is putting me and my parents in some risky situations at the moment. On Monday, Dad and I were trapped in snowbound traffic gridlock for over 4 hours just minutes from our house. Our street has been ignored by the council in terms of clearing heavy snow and lethal ice, despite being on a steep hill. Every time we have to leave the house, there is a chance of some accident or other. Last night, we narrowly missed being in a 20-car incident that happened just minutes after we'd passed the exact same spot. Tonight, and at some point tomorrow, we will have no option but to sit in some car park or other for several hours, having navigated around the thick ice which still covers all the places we could possibly go to. Saturday cannot come too soon, when the relative sanctuary of supermarkets and cafes return.

On top of this, I've had chronic 'flu since last Friday. Things have become so ridiculous lately, that I've had to laugh at it. You begin to think what else could possibly go wrong for us.

So, if you could just spare a thought for our safety over the next few days, that would be welcome

The ice situation is bloody terrible. Forecast days before and we still can't sort ourselves out properly.

Genuinely sorry to hear that Mr G, i'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

I agree the ice situation has been handled terribly. You probably heard about the bus that crashed down this way the other night, killing two elderly women, that was a main route to a place where so many people go this time of year to see the christmas lights at Mousehole (we nearly went, thank god we didn't). I know it's been widespread, but it seems like even the main roads aren't being treated. Not good enough.
