I lit a candle on Saturday and said a prayer. 9/11 always gets me because not only is it obviously a devastating and tragic event, but it's New York. Having been there this year it somehow feels even more real now. Saying that though it still seems like something that happened in a movie. All those people, to lose their lives in such horrific and disturbing ways, it's hard to fathom sometimes. Hard to fathom. :(

no matter what day of the year, when I think about this it chokes me up to tears. I'm glad this thread is here. I didn't know it was. I know I'm late but, as I said, I didn't know this thread was here.....I think about the towers, the lives lost and how many families are missing family members, a lot more than once a year and will never forget that day. Security everywhere has been increased and forever reminds me of the dangers of terror and war. It creates a terrible shame upon human nature...in my opinion and I can't help but wish people could just respect one another, because that is all it would take

Amen! I've long said "respect" is the key word to peace, unfortunately a lot of people just don't seem to have it. I think about 9/11 a lot too. The state this world is in now is actually far too scary for me to even contemplate. You just have to wonder where it's all going to end. :smt009

I found these images so moving.

Bryant Park, New York City, 11th Sept 2011. 2,819 empty chairs face where the World Trade Center once stood. A chair for every life lost.

^That is amazing. Such a beautiful sight/reminder of a tragic event.

I caught a documentary I haven't watched before on the telly, I was tearing up at some of the stories and testimonies. 9/11 Never forget :(

The west's War on Freedom is not over.
People should just stop killing other people.
People should object to people killing other people.
Especially when the pretense for supposedly justifying killing people is based on momumental deceit, propoganda and outright lies.
Ignorance is not strength.
War is not peace.
Freedom is not slavery.
