I have a friend who was effected by it. He had an uncle who was a parttime firefighter. The uncle died trying to save an old woman in a wheelchair from one of the towers. My friend was crying hysterically in class during our moment of silence. Poor thing! :smt056

9/11 always effects me, even though i'm not American, i don't know anyone who was there, nor have i ever been to New York! But NY is a place i dream of, and when 9/11 happened it was like a little bit of me was taken away along with the towers!

I watched a programme about 9/11 last night and after it finished i came into my room and just looked at this picture that i have framed up on my wall:

I still can't believe it sometimes! All those people...

I used to have a beautiful framed B&W picture of the Manhattan/NY skyline taken from over the river....but after 9/11 I couldn't bear to look at it so it's been hidden away ever since.

I watched a show on the History Channel last night that was a documentary called "the 102 minutes that changed history." They had taken eye witness footage of it all and put it together in a documentary that was very well done and informative.. but also heart breaking... I watched it and it all felt like it just happened. Such a trama. Still unbelievable after all of this time.

My deepest sympathy to all of the families that are forever changed.

Still doesn't get any easier. Just don't understand it, I really don't.

RIP to those brave souls who lost their lives, and to the families who have to cope without them. x

I've been thinking a lot about the people on Flight 93 recently, i'm ashamed to say i never really knew the full story there, i knew there was another plane that crashed, etc, but i happened upon the film they made about the flight on tv the other night and, well, it moved me to almost hysterical tears. I've been thinking about them a lot.

I was at work today but i made a point of stopping and saying a prayer at the times of the impacts/crashes/collapses.

I still don't understand it.

Today was tense. During the school television announcements (my Media class is in charge of them) we showed a 5 minute memorial video. It was totally silent. The whole school was. There wasn't any noise in the hallway.

Always remembered.
