Part of the reason tickets are so much for her show is because you're supporting public television. Last fall I paid about $85 a pair to see Chris Isaak perform 2 nights on Soundstage. But, it was soooooo totally worth it. We were right at the stage and I saw myself on each of the episodes when it finally aired.

Another bonus to this, the cost of the tickets are tax deductible contributions!

If you have the chance to see someone perform at the Soundstage Studio--do it. When I saw Chris Isaak last September, they were, in my humble opinion, his best performances that I've ever seen live. I don't know if it was the acoustics of the room or if they were all totally on, but it was great.

And, if they don't like the way a song is going, they'll stop in the middle and start over again. It was kind of nice actually. Chris' duet with Stevie Nicks took them about 4 or 5 takes!!!

:D

It is a television broadcast. It should be televised on PBS in the US around the end of July.

I got my e-mail from WTTW confirming my seats at the Soundstage taping. I cannot wait for June 5th. :D

I am just getting back from the WTTW tapings and that was a great show. I have seen KT three times in the last six months and this is probably my favorite show of the three. The studio itself is a great venue. It is really small and quite intimate. The acoustics were fantastic. You can really tell the difference in seeing a show at an arena designed for basketball and hockey, a small club that used to be a movie theater versus a television studio, which was designed for optimal sound quality.

Before the show started, a member of the WTTW staff came out and had us rehearse our portion of the show. :D He had us stand up and cheer really loudly, as if KT was about to come onto stage. We did that three times and I believe it was recorded for possible use for the introduction for the KT episode for Soundstage. From what I remember, this is what KT played:

1. Other Side of the World
2. Miniature Disasters
3. Under the Weather
4. Another Place to Fall
5. Universe & U
6. Black Horse and the Cherry Tree
7. Silent Sea
8. Hollywood Hills :D :D :D (This was the first time KT ever played this live. It was an up tempo rocker, which kind of reminded me a bit of old Oasis (the song Digsy's Diner for some reason comes to mind). KT had to start and restart this song several times (she even forgot the words in one attempt :P ). I liked this song and hope she plays it live at an upcoming show and an mp3 surfaces.

I am drawing a blank on songs 9-11. I might be wrong on these three, but I believe they were:

9. False Alarm
10. Heal Over
11. Stoppin' the Loving

12. Suddenly I See

Encore

13. One Day
14. Through The Dark

KT had to redo Suddenly I See. I believe Luke lost a stick in the first taping, so they had to reshoot it.

15.Suddenly I See (Redo)

The show will be broadcasted locally on July 27th and I am really looking forward to seeing that who all over again.

Ahhh!!! Would've killed to go to this show.. not not kill, but yeah!! I just love intimate acoustic settings.. especially when KT's in 'em! Can't believe she played a new song either! HOw wonderful! Only song missing is Dirty Water to make it a perfect set!

Do you know if the airing on the 27th will be the entire set?

I am not sure if the entire set will be aired. I believe the show will be a one hour show, so I imagine a few songs will be cut in order to fit into one hour. Hopefully I am wrong and the entire set will be aired.

 Hollywood Hills?! Man, I'm jealous of you Americans getting to hear her new stuff! :P

Oh, and it wouldn't quite be the same if KT didn't mess up a few times and forget her words...gotta love it :D

Glad a good time was had!
