My initial thought is that i don't like it. Hopefullly it'll grow on me.

Pros:
It's still our lovely forum!
We still have the same smilies. :D
It's not garish and the theme for the most part is very visually pleasing.
I love the tiger eyes at the top.

Cons:
The drawing underneath is too busy under the text. Much better when it stops and the background is plain.
No link to the main website at the top anymore.
I don't get why just the "Profile" button is pink. The other buttons blend a bit too much and are hard to read.
The white usernames are tricky to read.
The page number you're on isn't defined.
I've never been a fan of the Online/Offline tags under usernames.
The quote name text is near impossible to read.
The randomness of the thread title colours is strange.
ASK MEGGLES?

I didn't mean for there to be WAY more cons than pros....

Anyone else find that the pages load really jerkily and in blocks? It kind of does my head in :?

TBC.

Nope. Even works fine on my mobile phone.

Okay, so this led me to wonder how it would look on my iPod Touch, and it's actually better for small screens than before--the font comes up more readable without having to zoom in. That I appreciate.

Really like the image, I think its nice and subtle and isnt too distracting when reading the forum.

Only a few issues, but they have already been raised: the page number you're on not being highlighted and thread name colours etc.
Also my sig is now too big, so I have to change it

Apart from that, love it maaaaaaaaaaate!

OK, I can't use this at all. Seriously. It makes me ill :(

I think it's that background image which is the problem, it's causing the scrolling down and page-loading to break up and make the page look a pixellated mess for me. Maybe the new design was meant for small screens and iPhones or whatever, but it's completely unusable now and the old version gave me no issues at all. So until it's changed, I'll have to bow out :smt009

Strange problem you have there... I've tried the forum in Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari on Windows; Firefox and Epiphany on Linux and Firefox and the stock browser on Android. No problem with any of them. :smt017

Trying all those browsers I found that the pictures in Andy B's signature doesn't render very well in Internet Explorer.

In my opinion the drawn background is not bad, but if it remained fixed while scrolling down/up the posts, it would be better... :smt023

Profile button in pink is much worse for us (male members)

*Titch* wrote:

Also the white links (they get "lost" inside the text)... more difficult if we put a link with the phrase "click here" (for example)... but we can put the text (by ourselves) in another colour to make it easier :smt023

I think the quote aspect is the worst... :? Totally agree with the rest.

Also agree with Andy, our usernames are very small...

By the way, it seems that i am the only one with wider posts...

I'm OK with all the changes except that I used "View New Posts", "View Active Posts" and "View My Posts" to navigate and now they are gone :( :( :(

When I refreshed the page on my phone I was still on the view new posts page so it's still there, just no link at the top.

Also, the "Active Topics" link is now gone, which I used a lot, though the url it linked to, search.php?search_id=active_topics does still work. Link was awful handy though.

I am liking the new look overall though.

Oh, and "View Your Posts" link is gone now too. Honestly, that and "Active Topics" were my main views on the Forum. :smt018

Z.

I think exactly the same! Give us back those two links!! :smt017

By the way, I actually quite like the new design but the problems Claire and the other talked about definitely need to be corrected as soon as possible!

First of all, whoa!

Second of all....

Not to mention the "New Topic" & "Reply" buttons aren't well highlighted either. I don't mind the picture so much, but I agree a little on it being distracting. Don't understand why "Profile" is highlighted in pink either. "Message History" needs fixing up as Mr L mentioned. OH and I'm having a bit of trouble deciphering new posts too.

Other than that, I'm sure I'll get used to it, just like the last forum change, which I seem to recall many people complaining about when that first happened...:p
