Hey, I've been playing guitar for a bit over a year now. I own a Yamaha Pacifica electric and a cruddy plastic acoustic. Though currently I'm thinking about getting a new guitar. I'm thinking about a Gibson SG or a semi-hollow body.

Thats pretty much what I've got. Thinking about saving for a Dove, so in about 50 years I will probably be able to afford one!

It seems to take forever to get the money for these things doesn't it? I'll be lucky if I can get one before I'm dead.

I think I have attempted, and failed, to play the guitar about 5 times now.
I have an acoustic and an electric guitar and tried to play every night, noting my progress and thing I had learned including the time it took on a notebook.

I don't think I have opened the notebook for months. Many months.

I see a video of KT or someone, and I want to play the guitar but sometimes I feel that it just won't happen. After about 7 years I can play some of "Wonderwall" - shows that I have gotten far (sarcasm).

I guess I can only hope that one day, it will actually happen for me.

I'm content with my guitar playing ability; I can strum a few chords and err.. that's about it. Would ideally like to work on my rhythm though; I should concentrate on that because I'm never going to be a Jimmy Page, or Jimi Hendrix, or Jack White.

Like Margera said way back in this thread though, I've never played in front of anybody, except the odd few brief snatches in the presence of Trev, but even then I hand it to him (both literally, and figuratively) because he's better than I am.

One day though I'd like to play a gig, even if it's just the one, but opportunities like that wont arise unless I put myself out there- which I'm not willing to do.

I've been playing guitar for six years now :smt035 and I would LOVE a new classical guitar. I have an electric one and my blue acoustic which is my favourite, but I could really do with a full-size classical one... Maybe next Christmas :mrg:

I've been playing since 25th December 2008 when my mum and dad got me an acoustic for Christmas, not an expensive one but it was my first so I will own it forever, naturally. I got pretty good (apparently) as I started playing gigs with the band I'm in (borrowing electrics and semi's) until on 25th December 2009 I was given my electric, a Yamaha EG012 in black. I'm still teaching myself and getting better but exams are meaning that progress is becoming slow until just before the summer.
For my birthday in Feb (yes I am only just 18) my mum and dad bought me a Uke. I'm teaching myslef that too and I thought I'd let you know that the four of us at my college that play/own a Uke have started a Uke group.
I want to record some songs too, although even though I play drums, bass, guitar and sing, I can't be a band on my own without looping system or whatever, so I'm investing in the not too distant future.

I would so love to be the next KT (tho obviously I'd be nowhere near as good as her) as people have said that they see me doing this.

Sorry for my full on paragraph, I got carried away.
