Hi Nick - posted any violent hardcore porn on the forum lately? Links to photos of dying african babies being stalked by vultures? What a great contribution to the world you make.

As a point of culture, that picture of the African child was taken by the late south african photographer Kevin Carter, and it won photography awards (I'm suprised James1 hasn't pointed this out, as he calls himself a photographer), the photo sparked a whole new wave of Africa-aid charities, although left Carter himself so guilt ridden at not having helped the child that he eventually committed suicide.

I posted that picture because I was wanted to know whether people would be shocked by it, or whether some clever dick would point out the historical significance of it. I wasn't suprised by the response.

That's all.

Oh piss off and stop trying to make out you're more intelligent than us.

Do you think being able to re-register makes you vaguely clever?

Judging by the majority of the posts on here, I can safely say I am more intelligent than most of you.

No, and if you think that was the only point I was trying to make about this forum, that it's security is sh*t, then you clearly are a very limited individual.

I already know from reading padsters emails that it doesn't take much to reduce him to a frothing, swearing, temper tantrum throwing child.

Whether or not people knew the significance of the photo, on a public forum that is based (mainly) around popular music, and outwith of any political/historical thread, there's no real place for it.

And perhaps your use of it as a guage for determining the "intelligence" of forum members lessens your moral standpoint somewhat.

I personally feel that real intelligence isn't solely measurable by accumulated cultural knowledge, or trivia. Quite often a person's intelligence is made evident in the way they behave, and they way they treat others. The way in which you have conveyed your disregard for so many on this forum may not have portrayed you as lacking in knowledge, but neither does it raise you above any of our members in terms of intelligence.

I think I have pointed out before, in reference to your language, that we have people of all age-groups on this forum.

It would be nice if you could take that on board in terms of the general content of your contributions.

See, now THAT is probably the first intelligent, pragmatic, well constructed criticism I've recieved from any forum representatitve.

They should make you an admin instead of these piss artists.

I'm off now everyone.

Bye-bye.

I know about Kevin Carter, photo journalist blah blah. You probably know because the Manic Street Preachers wrote a song about him. Gosh man, you're so deep!

Don't pretend you posted the link to that image out of anything more than spite and malice.

You always do hateful things, get a reaction, and THEN retreat and pretend to be oh-so-considered and nice. It's great when mods have to delete your foul, obscene and possibly illegal posts isn't it? You can then sit back and flutter your eyelashes. As you have found out, when I have been provoked into being nasty, I don't pretend to be anything but.

What was the justification for the hardcore porn, by the way?

What was the justification for the porn, by the way?

Actually, I know about Kevin Carter through my dad, who, among his various talents, is an amateur photographer (he's also a successful and highly respected professional musician). I am familiar with the Manics song though, great, isn't it?

As for the "porn" - well - I wouldn't call it porn. Porn is intended to cause sexual arousal - those images would only cause sexual arousal to the seriously disturbed (I'm not disturbed at all actually, I'm quite an ordinary person, most forum trolls are, this is just a persona, see?) - they were "shock" pictures for the purpose of shocking. I posted them because I felt like a bit of childish mischief. Yes it was cheap, it was obscene, and it was certainly not clever, there was no justification for it, but hey, I've got no worries.

I'm sure if we met in real life we'd get along great, as you certainly wouldn't be hurling all this four letter abuse at me (partly because you must have some adult restraint about you, but also because you'd be scared shitless), and I probably wouldn't be bothering with all this antagonism. None of you seem to realise that this is the internet, it's not real life, it's not important, and you shouldn't take it so seriously.

-PS.
By the way, would there have been a problem if I had learnt about it from the Manics song? I think it's great that a band like the Manics can open people up to a whole new world of history and information. I've learnt a lot through listening to the Manics, and it's helped me look at things in a much more open minded (if admitedly nihilistic) light.
Don't knock pretentious rockstars trying to teach us a lesson, because sometimes they get it right.

Oh and I like what you've done with my signature by the way, somebody might alsmot be inclined think it actually says something about the real me!

I am keeping a close eye on it, yes, but you'll notice I just posted in the newbie thread.

Probably won't be me unfortunatley. It'll most likely be one of the admins/mods.

Not that this is a remotely interesting discussion.
