Do we have enough site traffic to warrant a new thread?!

I reallllllly want to like it, but it still doesn't grab me :(. Her voice is sounding good though.

And she's such a cutie.

I love the song but the video is ok. I'm sure I will like it more with time though.

When I first heard the song, I thought KT was writing about her father when I heard these lyrics...

I’m looking to the sky
And I’ll be listening to the stars
And maybe thinking of you
And wondering where you are
Do you know what you’ve done for me
You made my branches grow
Now they can play with the wind
And they can carry the snow

Could well be about her father, I thought that too but of course the beauty of music is that it can mean whatever you want it too :)

And I do like the video but I can't help but think it has a bit of an unresolved ending...I just wanted her to run away from the edge of that plank!!

For me, edge of the plank part was just as if she was saying "my life relies on you now.. it's up to you". Some kind of dependency she wanted to get the rid of but could not do so. Beautiful!

I like both the song and the video. IMO it fits perfectly to her.

It's not bad, it's moody and fits the song I guess.

Hearing it again I woulda preferred less piano and more of that crackly electric guitar

Love the song :smt023 :smt023 like the vid :smt023

The vid really put me on edge -- I'm not afraid of heights, it's falling from heights that scares me!

Think they worked very well together. Hope I'll be able to disassociate the song from walking the plank :D

I'm loving the song. I've missed her music. Couldn't listen to the older songs, too many memories I don't need now. Glad to have some new work to listen to. Music video's aren't really my thing, but it fits the song.

I really like the song and the vid. The vid is quite simple, but I think it fits the song really well! And KT looks beautiful :D

^ Exactly. The vid is simple, but I love it. Although, I think I'm a bit biased and will love anything she puts out.

I was waiting for her to fall off the plank the whole time
Bloopers anyone??

I have to admit that I wasn't a huge fan of the song when I first listened to it. I mean, I liked it and so and I was still excited about the album. I just admitted (and admit) that she hasn't been through her best moment and if that's how she feels, to me it is the best she can do, to be so frank in her music. However, despite my horrendous memory, just the THIRD time I listened to the song I found myself humming it.
And I do actually like the video very much, specially the scenery and the bird at the beggining. Quite deep, both, video and song.

Ha Nat it's never too soon for a new thread. I have to say, the new song is very catchy and quickly growing on me. As far as the vid goes, Meh. I was a bit bored with it and found it anti-climactic. A lot of hype for a vid all about walking a plank with no resolve. The good thing is, the vid doesn't affect the song for me.

I agree, I love that is very simple, but it's very symbolic too. Kinda leaves an open ending for you to decide what happens next, just like the meaning of a song, it's open for your own interpretation of it.

I actually really like the song and video. I hear a maturity that speaks to me even though the song more simple than some in recent years.

That's what I was thinking too. Her life is in the balance at the mercy of another. But if she moves towards him there is less dependence on what he does.
