"England and America are two countries separated by a common language." --George Bernard Shaw

In British idiom, "pants" means...erm...underthings. :-D

Really great performances. I'd love to get them as mp3s for the 'Pod :mrg:

Just posted, apparently, a wee behind-the-scenes snippet of KT doing her soundcheck:

I've been blowing people away at work with the three videos from this show. Worth noting is a few remarked about her precision with the looping (I'm not going to encourage them to casually browse the youtubes.) :smt005 I agree, I like her faster playing.

Yeah her hands were a blur during Uummannaq... I must admit, I've heard these songs so many times that I don't always appreciate the musicianship any more but that woke me up a bit!

Exactly! Her timing is spot on for all three songs and no blown lyrics (that I could tell) or equipment malfunctions. Of course we don't know if this was over multiple takes (I'm guessing she nailed each one the first attempt.) This isn't a criticism of her casual live performances (afterall, it's hard to be perfect when you get piss thrown at you.) But sometimes I lose a little enthusiasm each time she stops a song because of equipment or memory issues.

Really? I see that as part of her charm to be honest, it gives everyone in the crowd a giggle... at the gigs I've been to, everyone just laughs and the hardcore fans roll their eyes knowingly  But I admit I wouldn't apply the same criteria when watching other artists perform, I'd react the same as yourself I think!

And FWIW, I think the only KT gig out of the 18 I've been to where she hasn't messed up at all was also the only one that was being broadcast - Abbey Road in December of last year. She can certainly nail the songs in one take when she needs to...

I'm not saying I dislike her stage "charm". Only that it sometimes serves to interrupt my groove at times. I know it would be very difficult to maintain a level of perfection for 90 minute shows night after night.

Haha oh yeah she did! Except no one noticed as she was covering it up quite quickly and clever, she messed up the lyrics to OSOTW which I noticed, and it probably made me look a bit confused as she saw it and then it made both of us chuckle

It could also have been False Alarm actually... not sure now but doesn't matter!
