Oh god, don't remind me of that Shep's Bush 'review'... jeezus  (I don't know what's more embarrassing, that vid or KT's take on Ashes at Skye  ) I still think you were more enthusiastic after Skye though. And yeah you have but my words were 'don't think I'VE seen you that excited after a gig' and that still stands!

Have I? Wow, you know my own KT preferences better than me then  Cool that Teena caught her on the tour, I didn't realise! I think Jen (Vegas) would've done too actually. Yeah I missed Simon on the tour though but who are we to argue if he prefers a bit of water to touring with us? :p

I don't know if these are actually my top 3 because I only really think about the drums when I'm listening to the song, rhythms don't tend to get stuck in my head as much as other parts of a song, but...

1. If Only - I love the beats on the album version, but I LOVE how they played it on tour :D

2. Difficulty - I know there's not much going on with the drums variety wise, but I like the constant rhythm through the whole song. The live version is even better though.

3. Fade Like a Shadow - Just because.

I tend to appreciate FLAS a lot more live cause of the drums I think... They're just wicked throughout indeed

But what I came in here for was just to shout: I JUST TAUGHT MYSELF TO PLAY SAW ON DRUMS!!! :-D :-D xss29
It sound well nice, and think I got it perfectly. Maybe I'll ask my friend next week to film it  Oh. And then I can take the audio and play guitar/sing over it (and obviously do the handclaps  ) and make it a nice wee tune with my macbook. Ok, getting carried away here
I know it's not really the biggest challenge but still. I like I can do it now  The other ones are a bit hard to figure out how to play as a non-drummer just from listening to a live-recording I find... I need to develop a better ear first :p
Also the other ones require hi-hats and such that I don't have access to

Btw, excuse the rambling... I'm excited!

GO KIM! :smt023

I wish I could learn how to play drums, but my friend won't let me turn his drumkit for a lefty and I have no coordination

oh, and since I'm on the thread.. I'd like to add that I love the soft drumming on Someday Soon.

You're a drum beat, guitar strum, and hand clap ahead of me. And I'm not allowed
to sing unless I'm by myself. Hope you record it for us to enjoy!

You know Kim, you could spend one of those umpteen KT shows just watching Luke do his bit and figure the drums all out. :smt020

God Kim you're so talented you could play everything on your solo album when you get round to doing that, which I think you should do instead of all that pie-in-the-sky medical nonsense that probably won't get you anywhere :p

Hmm, I'd say I agree on the fills on Saving My Face, esp. live.
Then that change to the snare 4 times a bar towards the end of If Only.
And when KT gets on the drums at the end of SIS in the '05 era.

You're so encouraging Jude. If people keep saying that I'll never get to finishing uni and getting my meds degree
Also, you can't say I'm talented at all, I can't really do anything except imitate, and for the drums, I'm gonna ask my friend to check whether I am actually doing it right instead of me just thinking I do...

I think KT's drumpart at the end of SIS should come back!! That was really cool. Or like in Bournemouth, she should start climbing on the speakersystems structurally from now on. That was cool 8)

Woah, I can't let you get away with that baloney! We've all seen, and heard, what you can do.
So what if you haven't got round to writing songs yet? There's that famous quote about it, "any idiot can do it", said by some guy called Bob Dylan.

I wonder why the drums on the album version of SAW are not like the ones live. I much prefer the latter.
Only thought of this the other day when I realised I totally enjoy the song itself more in the live version than the studio one when it came by on the iPod!

Slightly (OK, mostly) off topic but SAW is the only song of KT's where the Nashville video trumps any version of the song. I would like to see more art video from her.

OK, back to our favorite drum talk.

Been a long while since someone posted a top 3 here, but here's mine (sure it could be different if you ask me in a year :p)

1. Mme. Trudaux (the whole thing)
2. Really loved the triangle thing Luke did on BHATCT in Live at The Wiltern. Watched the excitement on his face while playing that triangel with joy!
3. The grand finale in SIS. That's ending with a bang :D
