I love to watch KT do Silent Sea on the ETTT DVD. The same thing for White
Bird on the DF DVD. When she plays the guitar like in those songs ... it's
amazing how she picks the tunes like that!

I love Silent Sea, and for me, White Bird is better than everything after Hopeless on the album :smt023

I totally agree. I've never really LOVED White Bird or Silent Sea. I listen to them and do enjoy them, but they're not songs that I've ever been obsessed with.

We were just talking about this! I like Silent Sea better than White Bird. I definitely like them (love Silent Sea), but just not as much as the other songs.

I know. I was a bit freaked out when I saw Nat's post at first.

Don't like Silent Sea, never have. I do like White Bird though. The only song I haven't been able to get into all that much from DF is I Don't Want You Now....which I know is a forum fave, but I just can't get into it, whether it be on record or live.

I still consider getting wasted as an artistic pursuit.
Music, too, can be a route out of places too dark to stay.

I honestly have no idea how some people can not like White bird or Silent sea...
I don't like IDWYN on the cd, but when it's live it's pretty okay.

I'm fine with those 3 songs although they aren't my favourites either. But I find the strings on BoU distracting. I haven't had the privilege of hearing it live though to hear what the other arrangement is.

I love Silent Sea live though, when it kinda builds up a bit more.

Interesting that I find this post when listening to IDWYN.
I prefer it live too, but I like the CD version as well.

My favorite live performance I've seen of it is this one from Jools Holland last year..

My mum was just reminiscing about how she first got into KT. She was working up in Glasgow at the start of 2005 and there was a big poster at one of the tube stations that said something like "this albums great" on it . And she said she thought every day "well I dont like that black horse song but the poster says the albums great.." and then she bought it a few weeks later then I pinched it

Yes. I remember her buying Norah Jones album and going "it says its good on the advert!"

Also if she reads a bad review of something she'll insist its crap and refuse to watch/listen to it
